Halloween Day 10: Fall Leaf Garland

Autumn is my favorite time of year; too bad it only lasts about 2 weeks here in Wisconsin!  I love the cooler weather, our boys love crunching through the leaves on the walk to school; even our cats love this time of year!
Well, until we dress them for the weather (or holidays)...

So enough cute kitties, I'll "leaf" you with a simple fall project using the Autumn Accent Bigz Die ~ a fall garland!

The first thing you need to do is cut a bunch of leaves with the Autumn Accents die and your favorite designer series paper and/or coordinating cardstock.  I like to look of sponging (be sure to do both sides), embossing with the spiderweb folder, and scoring (from stem to leaf tips, accordion folded).  If you're like me, and always need busy hands, this is a great activity to do while watching your favorite t.v. show.
When all of your leaves are ready, pull out your sewing machine, dust it off, and stitch right through the leaves, one at a time.  Make sure to keep stitching right off the end of each leaf before starting the next - don't worry, it won't feel right at first but it works!

Then, string your garland up wherever you like!  You can make several to hang in a doorway, or even drape the garland in layers to bring a little bit of fall indoors.
I hope you give this simple seasonal project a try!  Enjoy your weekend and try not to over-do the holiday celebrations!
