Interlocking Gatefold Card Tutorial

I'm back with another fun fancy-fold card for you today!  This one is also made with the new Framelits dies, but uses the Interlocking Gatefold technique.  Check it out!

Here's the card closed...
And this is how it opens....
Kinda cool, huh?  And it's pretty simple to make, too!

Start with your cardstock base cut to 11" x 4-1/4", then score at 2-3/4" and 8-1/4".  This will give you a standard 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" finished card.

Go ahead and fold on the score lines to create your card "front".  Using your Framelits dies, cut a frame (blue piece on my finished card) by layering 2 dies on the same paper, and running them through your Big Shot together.  Then choose a smaller Framelit of the same shape and cut a solid shape (white piece on finished card).

Once you've decided on placement for these shapes on your card-front, adhere only half of the (blue) frame to the left side of your card and only half the (white)solid shape to the right side of your card.

Voila!  Another fabulous 5-minute fancy-fold card!  Be sure to stop back tomorrow, as I have yet another Framelits fancy-fold card to share with you!

(BTW, that stamp set I used is called Outlined Occasions, and it isn't for sale.  I can, however, let you have it for FREE with a $50 order - but only until March 31st!  There's also a sneak peek of Summer Smooches DSP on my project, which will be available for order during the month of April, and will appear in the next big catalog!  Sneaky, sneaky!)

Happy Stampin'!
